Intergroup (IG)
We are the Houston Metro Intergroup (HMI) #09050, which consists of groups within Houston and the surrounding area. Our service area extends north as far as College Station and The Woodlands, east to the Louisiana state line, south to Galveston, and west to Katy. We are part of Region 3 of Overeaters Anonymous.

Local OA meetings are encouraged to send representatives to this monthly business meeting. Intergroup meetings are open to all OA members and all are encouraged to attend.
What is Intergroup?
When several meetings form in an area, they soon realize that they can perform certain functions better together rather than separately. Meetings may form an Intergroup that is directly responsible to the groups it serves. Intergroups spring from a need to provide service for a number of local meetings and help distribute information about OA in a community. The Intergroup elects annual Board Positions and Committee Chairpersons to distribute Intergroup responsibilities. Intergroup Representatives are elected by each meeting to attend and participate in the Intergroup meetings and responsibilities.
