Membership in the OAsis Club offers many benefits to its participants including such aspects as …

1. Your being a part of the on-going organization ensures the OAsis Club’s future in Houston.

2. Having your own personal key to the club lets you have a safe space to meet other OA’s or even use it as a quiet time for yourself during the day, on a lunch hour, or even before going to a big event.

3. Realizing that, with your membership, you are a part of the reason we have our own OA club facility, something unique throughout the country.

4. Having instant access to the OAsis Club’s  “for public use” literature that is always available for OA people.

5. Being an active membership of the OAsis Club allows you to participate on the board of the organization … a fun way to provide service.  With board elections coming up in the fall, the time is good to get your membership in order to fulfill one of the many board duties.

6. Fulfilling a sense of commitment to the program and to the fellowship.

7. Affirming that you are carrying the message to others who suffer from eating disorders by keeping the club’s doors opened.

8. Providing a service to the organization and to the people who attend meetings at the OAsis Club.

9. Contributing and deferring the escalating costs of rent, air conditioning repairs, liability insurance, and related expenses to keep the doors opened to the still suffering overeater.

10. Most importantly, providing a central location for autonomous Twelve Step meetings to be conducted on such themes as abstinence, the Twelve Steps, OA literature, bulimia.

Membership is offered in two methods:  six months’ membership is $30; twelve months is $55.   Envelopes are available in the information desk area of the OAsis Club and at most meetings conducted in the Hillcroft location.  Additionally, a membership table will be set up at each of the Saturday morning meetings to help you join for the first time or renew your existing membership.
