GreySheet Meeting Preamble

This group of Overeaters Anonymous has been founded and designed to discuss
the fundamentals or basics of attaining and maintaining Grey Sheet
abstinence.  For that purpose we explore together the program of Alcoholics
Anonymous in arresting compulsive eating.  We strongly support Grey Sheet.
We require that our meeting leaders be abstinent for at least three months
on the Grey Sheet. We support a vigorous and positive attitude toward Grey
Sheet abstinence which we define as three weighed and measured meals a day
from the Grey Sheet, with nothing in between but black coffee, tea, or diet soda.

A note from HMI:  OA, as a whole - including HMI, does not endorse any specific food plan.  OA does recommend that each member develop a food plan as a tool of recovery.  For specific dietary or nutritional guidance, OA suggests consulting a  qualified health care professional, such as a physician or dietician.  Link here for a more thorough discussion of the food plan as a tool of recovery.

GreySheet meetings, as well as OA-HOW, represent a subset of OA that does recommend a specific eating plan.  Their  philosophy and meetings are generally considered more structured than the main body of OA.  The decision to attend these specialized meetings is obviously a matter of personal choice.
