The meeting was opened at 10:00 a.m. with the Serenity Prayer. Helen read the mission statement. Introductions were made by the attendees:

12 Traditions of OA – Nancy spoke on Tradition 9. Lora volunteered to speak on Tradition 10 at next month’s meeting.

Minutes of Last Meeting – The minutes from the July meeting were approved as amended. The August minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report – Lora gave the report.

Old Business –

• Phone/e-mail list – Candace W. has compiled an updated e-mail list. Anyone wanting to be on the e-mail or phone lists needs to get the information to Jodi.

Delegates Report –

• WSO Convention – Carl reported that he has a written version of Rosanne’s story. He possibly might also have a tape copy.

• Region III Business Assembly – Ann and Lora are registered and have their airline tickets. Discussion followed regarding Region III financial assistance with delegates travel expenses. The Region III Chair’s Report was read with reference to the Chair’s Scrapbook. Board positions of Chair and Secretary are up for election this September.

• Convention – The contract with the hotel has been signed. Candace is trying to arrange transportation for the speaker. Arrangements for a disc jockey and decorations have been made.

• Special Events/Workshops – No report

• Spring Retreats and Conventions – No report

• Public Information – The public information position is open. This information will be added to the website. HIPM and PI have been combined at Region III.
• Office Service – No report

• HMI Website – Alan reported that there have been over 7,500 "hits" since the site’s inception.

• Newsletter/Meeting List - There will be an addition to the next newsletter from Lifelife, duly-noted. The latest edition, due in September, is ready to go to the printer with changes regarding new area codes.

• By-Laws Committee – No report.

• Budget Committee – No report.

• Literature – Lora will order more for the HMI cabinet and convention in October.

New Business –

• IRS Form – The IRS has sent HMI a form requesting information on gross receipts and total assets for 1999. Lora will calculate these and get the figures to Helen . Lora will also do a 6-month compilation of the Cash Flow Report.

Open Forum –

• Sherri asked that members mention the new North Shore meeting (Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Columbia East Hospital).

Closing – The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 with the 3^rd Step Prayer.
