12 Traditions of OA – Alan spoke on Tradition 8 in Nancy’s absence. Discussion followed. Nancy was volunteered for Tradition 9 at next meeting.

Treasurer’s Report – No report

Old Business –

• By-Laws - Helen and Alan met to review the by-laws. Reported only changes needed were in how the area was defined. Change area codes to "Greater Houston Area." Also added a section for the 12 Concepts of OA. Motion by Carl to amend the by-laws as read, seconded by Alan. Motion passed. Would like to find computer disk, if available, before re-typing the whole thing. Will check with Jan.

Delegates Report – No delegates report

Committee Reports –

• Special Events/Workshops/Retreats – No report.

• Convention – Dee reported from last convention planning meeting that there was no signature yet with the hotel. There is some trouble in communicating with GBAI. Dee is the Public Information chair for the convention. Helen will email to Dee the Intergroup mailing addresses she has for newsletter exchange. Next planning meeting will be 9/9/00 at noon (after HMI).

• Public Information – No report.

• Office Service – Phone service seems to be OK. UofH Downtown requested speaker for a Health Fair type of event to share on eating disorders and the reality of living with it. Discussion followed on whether it is a break in traditions. Motion by Dee to participate in this UHD event; 2^nd by Alan. Motion passed. Suggested to ask Jan and Richard to make the presentations. Helen to contact them.

• Web Report – Alan is answering email to oa.houston@att.net as he can and forwards some to Helen and others for answers.

• Newsletter - Newsletter for Summer 2000 has been distributed and is online.

New Business -

• Email/Phone List needs update/verification – Ann and Candace volunteered to update the list and pass back any updates/changes to Jodi K.

Announcements – The next meeting will be held on September 9, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oasis Club.

Closing – The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 with the 3^rd Step Prayer.
